I started using the ‘F’ word without knowing its meaning in the 4th standard. I picked it up from my friend Leishiwon and started using my newfound word when I went home and played carom with my big brother. Every time I said 'F', he gave one on my back. I did not have the courage to ask him what it meant but knew it was something I am not supposed to use and somehow stopped using it in front of him.
I went back to my friend and asked her if she knew the meaning. She also did not know but she found out the meaning from someone and told me. That day, one important word was added to my vocabulary. The word, which later took the place of all the eight parts of speech when I joined hostel. (A convent)
So, I asked J the same question. When did she hear or know the meaning of this word? She replied, 2nd PU. Haha, she is foreign bred and all that and she didn’t know. I had laughed like crazy that she warned me not to let people know, she knew it only in second year PU.
So, when was your first encounter?

standard 3 i guess...but it was a real bad word then...i was using it fluently by standard 8...
I knew about the F word when I was in 5th. I didn't start using any profanities till my 10th class. The worst word I have used in front of my mom ever has been a hindi word 'Kamina'.
Sorry for the F word. However I am so happy that you are now focused on some lighter stuff....
For me,the first F word has been Fun. Somewhere it became Female.
However it took 16 years to Find the F*$#ing F word ! To be true to myself, it if Fish these days..
Can you share a link for a F recipe ? I mean fish. Mungeri is a bit slow today.
Bye
Looong time back.. I don't even remember. :)
i think sometime in middle school. considering how i was studying in a convent too (and we were proper la dee da loreto girls) i'm surprised at how early i knew the word :) hey now i remember the first encounter...i saw it scrawled on a wall in one of the gardens in darj. yeah...that's how!
As far as understanding the word i can't remember when exactly was it. However i think i started using it since my first f***ing job, which was in 2001.
dont even remember...most probably first encounter was thru holywood movies of eddie murphy
it is hard to remember, but I guess only in hostel, in my undergrad. My school was in a small town where only all desi B*** words were used :)
methink was back in school around 5th-6th standard ~ courtesy Harrold Robbins (how we use to suck them up!) on the back-benches during Maths classes.
Std VIII probably. Hindi counterpart I knew much before :-)
I heard in in grade 3 from the boys in my school bus ...but actually started using it in grade 6 when my classmates and i thought it was supposedly cool to abuse!
How fickle we were back then!
now we have a different issue altogether ...it it was harder fircin g ourselves to use it when we were younger now its harder to avoid using anytime and anywhere!
6th
Had the person who told me the word, explain it in great detail.
Probably the 8th ... never knew what it meant when I called out to somebody and suddenly I was at the wrong end of a lot of jokes about my ignorance!!!
I heard it for the first time when i watched TITANIC. ne'er uttered it till date. But today i feel like shouting it to our self-styled big boss.
Good to see a girl writing boldly about the F word. I appreciate your audacity, alomor.
